HBO's new vampire series True Blood sounds like it has a lot of promise. Set in the near future, in a world in which humans and vampires coexist (thanks to a synthetic blood drink called TruBlood), the leaked plot details promise mystery, science fiction, romance and horror. Anna Paquin (love her!) stars as a telepathic waitress in small town Louisiana who, of course, falls in love with one of the walking dead (Stephen Moyer). Vampiric drama ensues. HBO's viral marketing campaign is in full force, and instead of being gimmicky (ahem, Cloverfield), this viral campaign feels fresh, clever and self-aware.
