fashion superheroes part II

It's hard not to hate Gisele Bündchen. Really, really hard. In addition to being half of a disturbingly beautiful couple (pictured here with Tom Brady in Tom Ford), she was just named Forbes' highest paid model of the year. She was another one of my favorites at the Costume Institute gala because in addition to looking fantastic in Atelier Versace, her look definitely gave a nod to the superhero theme. Did her pale, banded gown remind anyone else of Leeloo's bandage leotard in The Fifth Element?

Zac Posen complimented his Clark Kent homage with Superman red and blue, while Kate Mara looked spectacular in a canary Zac Posen gown and Fred Leighton jewels.

Amber Valletta wore wings! Wings! The supermodel played superhero in Atelier Versace and David Yurman jewels.

Although I enjoy Kate Bosworth's vintage Chanel dress, I doubt I would have found it too memorable on its own. But with that eye makeup and those Pierre Hardy heels, the effect is striking.

How could I not mention Lynda Carter? Wonder Woman wore a Carolina Herrera gown accessorized with Raineri cuffs. No word on whether she arrived in her invisible jet.
