fashion superheroes part III

Although she had some difficulties navigating her train on the red carpet, Bee Shaffer was effervescent in Nina Ricci. A dream gown designed by Olivier Theysken is worth a few minor inconveniences, no?

Camilla Belle was stunning in seafoam Armani Privé with Fred Leighton jewels. Considering the rumors that Anna Wintour commanded Vogue staffers to attend the event in pale colors, maybe Camilla is angling for a position. I'd support any career transition that eliminates the possibility of a sequel to 10,000 B.C.

Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen walked the red carpet in Calvin Klein Collection. Rachel's body-skimming, navy dress immediately reminded me of X-Men's Mystique. Unlike Rebecca Romijn, it probably didn't take Rachel eight hours to slip into her outfit.

German knockout Diane Kruger went short with an Alberta Ferretti mini-dress and Fred Leighton jewels. Joshua Jackson was my best dressed man of the night in Yves Saint Laurent.

You can always count on the models to bring effortless chic to these events. Off-runway pals Coco Rocha and Anja Rubik both wore Emilio Pucci, with Rubik rocking a necklace that she claimed gave her "special powers."

Although Jessica Stam looked fierce in her Proenza Schouler mini-dress, I was hoping she'd try something a little more feline. Considering her cat eyes are her most famous feature, maybe she thought channeling Julie Newmar would be too obvious.

Phillip Lim dressed his muse, Chanel Iman, in chartreuse swirls and a Wonder Woman belt and cuffs. Chanel recently posed for the upcoming all-black edition of Vogue Italia with Liya Kebede, Veronica Webb, Jourdan Dunn, and her namesake, the legendary Iman.

Rode by the Met on Costume Ball night...what an amazing event! Love the commentary and that you included people I hadn't seen in the majority of the press.
