I know there's been some controversy about the casting of the new The Day The Earth Stood Still, but I can't wait for this remake to hit theaters. Jennifer Connelly, Kathy Bates, John Cleese and Aaron Douglas (Chief Tyrol!) round out the cast, while Keanu Reeves tackles the legendary Klaatu. I know, he's no Shakespearean actor (although he was in the Branagh/Thompson film version of Much Ado About Nothing), but I can't help loving the guy. He was Ted Logan, Johnny Utah and Neo, people! Give the man some credit. Besides, I think his trademark wooden line readings could be perfect for the somber alien. Plus, Gort!
